The Escondido Channel
Government Access Television
Escondido has its own cable television station inside City Hall-The Escondido Channel, Channel 19 for Cox subscribers and Channel 99 for AT&T U-Verse subscribers. Programming includes City Council meetings and select special events either sponsored or co-sponsored by the City, and informational videos highlighting City services and programs.
Mission Statement
The Escondido Channel serves the people of Escondido by providing accurate information about policies, services, and activities of city government and to stimulate and encourage all people representing Escondido's diverse communities to involve themselves in local government issues and the local government process.
Programming
Escondido City Council meetings can be seen live on Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m. Replays can be seen on Sunday and Monday starting at 6 p.m.
Channel 19 Service Area
As determined by Cox Communications, as specified in the franchise agreement, Cox Communications cable customers within the boundaries of Escondido currently receive The Escondido Channel.
Cable TV Regulation
The City provides cable television regulation and enforcement for all customers within the City limits. The City of Escondido maintains non-exclusive cable television franchises with Cox Communications.
