On November 8, 2024 at 4:55PM, units from the Escondido Fire Department were dispatched to residential fire at 1051 N. Escondido Blvd. The first Engine Company to arrive reported smoke coming from a first-floor apartment.
Firefighters entered the structure and found a bedroom completely engulfed in fire and extending to the living area. Aggressive firefighting limited fire damage to the apartment of origin. Firefighters remained on scene for approximately one hour performing salvage and overhaul operations.
No Firefighters or civilians were injured during the incident. One adult and a child were displaced due to the damage to their apartment and are being assisted by the Red Cross with temporary lodging.
Officers from the Escondido Police Department assisted with temporary evacuations and traffic control. SDG&E also responded to secure gas and electric services to the affected apartment. The cause and origin of the fire is currently being determined by Escondido Fire Department Investigators.
