Overview
The Escondido Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the City of Escondido and, through a contractual arrangement established in 1984, the Rincon Del Diablo Fire Protection District.
The mission of the Escondido Fire Department is to serve the public and to safeguard the community from the impact of fire, medical, and environmental emergencies through education, emergency services, and enforcement.
Welcome - Chief's Message
Thank you for visiting the City of Escondido Fire Department website! The Escondido Fire Department has proudly served the community of Escondido for over 134 years, "Providing Legendary Service". This site is one of many ways in which we are involved with the community and we hope you find the site useful.
Our staff members pride themselves on aligning with our four core values; Duty, Courage, Honor and Pride. We are grateful for the partnerships we have within the community and we will continue to strive every day to meet the needs of the citizens and visitors of this fine City.
Sincerely,
John Tenger

- Why don't I see fire station phone numbers listed in the phone book or on the website?
- I've heard of "Child Locator Decals" that can be placed on the windows of my home. Is this a good idea?
- How can I get a job as an Escondido Firefighter?
- Does the Escondido Fire Department have an Explorer Program?
