The Community Services Department in coordination with the Risk and Safety Division performed a safety audit of the Skate Park at the Escondido Sports Center. The skate park was temporarily closed until a full report was completed and reviewed by City staff. Based on the findings of the report, multiple safety deficiencies were identified as the foundational structures have exceeded their life expectancies. Therefore, a permanent closure of the space has been implemented effective immediately.
